About Us
A Guiding Light in Our Community’s Journey Against Hunger
In 2019, founders Dwayne & Alice Clements along with Denise, Marty and Cody Daugherty felt called to serve the community they have called home for more than 4 decades by helping feed the hungry. Led by faith and their pickup truck they began delivering food to the less fortunate around Canton. The ministry continues to grow and is currently serving approximately 1700 families a month.
Dwayne & Alice Clements are on a mission to wipe out hunger in Van Zandt County and with the cooperation of other food ministries in surrounding counties to wipe out hunger in those counties as well.

Humble Beginnings
In March of 2019 we started getting a few boxes of food to share with elderly people we knew as well as a few of our customers that were struggling to make ends meet. Before long we were using a cargo trailer and delivering food to over 40 families a week.
We decided it was time to give this ministry a name and so Love And Grace Family Resource Ministry was born. We knew we wanted to be able to do more for those in need and with Thanksgiving coming, and Christmas just around the corner, in October 2019 we rented a 1500 sq. ft. building formally occupied by the Gun Shop.
In February 2020 the “Auction House” building became available. God made a way and now Love And Grace Family Resource Ministry occupies 12,000 sq. ft. of the old “Oaks Village” shopping center. This building has served Canton and the surrounding communities for decades, and with God’s Grace and community support we hope to serve here for years to come.
In January 2020 we filed and subsequently received our 501(c)(3) designation from the IRS. If you or your organization would like to donate to Love And Grace all documents are available upon request.
Our Purpose
We are here to serve not just our community but the entire County. Love And Grace is not a replacement for the grocery store, other food resources or public assistance. But we are here to help those in need.
There is a large number of families who do not qualify for needed assistance. Either they make too much money to qualify for assistance or have assets such as a home or car (basic necessities) that disqualify them.
With your help we can eliminate food insecurity in Van Zandt County. And perhaps someday from our surrounding counties as well. We are NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS.

Our Goal
To grow the ministry to serve all those in need in our community, county and beyond.

And the King shall answer and say unto them, verily I say unto you, inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40
